Sewing Gem of Wisdom #1 and #2

I am going to try to sew a project. It’s a secret for now what I am sewing, but wanted to share a couple gems of wisdom I’ve already learned.

#1 – When you look on the back of the pattern to see how much fabric you need for a certain size, it’s always nice to actually VERIFY that that size is in the pattern envelope… Seems silly to me to include sizes that aren’t in that particular pattern envelope you are holding in your very hands.

#2 – Picking out fabric takes a VERY long time, at least for me.

I am sure these are common knowledge for all you talented crafties out there, but I am starting from zero sewing knowledge!

Like I need another hobby!

A couple years ago at the Utah State Fair and saw a lady making Bobbin Lace. It was so cool! I’ve been looking off and on for a local supplier and teacher. I didn’t want to buy online until I knew more what I was looking for. Well, we were in Denver this past weekend and Googled Bobbin Lace Denver and didn’t find any stores, but found an online store that had a great kit, so took a chance and ordered it. It arrived today. I can’t wait to take a couple hours and see if I can do it. Here’s what came in the mail today:
