91 – Experiment
April 1, 2010
Roo is doing a science experiment for school. She planted potatoes in several different containers and put them in different lighting conditions throughout the house. She’ll document how each one grows in it’s different lighting conditions.

I went to a gardening class at church tonight. We learned about starting plants from seeds. These were examples of some of the plants the teacher had started for her garden this year. She’s amazing and was really nice to share her wisdom with us. I can’t wait for summer ripe tomatoes!

I invite and encourage you to accept this challenge as well, reading the Standard Works in 8 months! We can post insights and questions as we go along and also support each other in accomplishing this great feat. We will all grow together and strengthen each other in the process.
"I say that we need to teach our people to find their answers in the scriptures…But the unfortunate thing is that so many of us are not reading the scriptures. We do not know what is in them, and therefore we speculate about things we ought to have found in the scriptures themselves. I think that therein is one of our biggest dangers of today." (President Harold B. Lee)
"No member of this church can stand approved in the presence of God who has not seriously and carefully read the Book of Mormon." (President Ezra Taft Benson)
"I know the Book of Mormon is true. You just have to read it." (President Gordon B. Hinckley)

Sewing Gem of Wisdom #1 and #2
September 6, 2009
I am going to try to sew a project. It’s a secret for now what I am sewing, but wanted to share a couple gems of wisdom I’ve already learned.
#1 – When you look on the back of the pattern to see how much fabric you need for a certain size, it’s always nice to actually VERIFY that that size is in the pattern envelope… Seems silly to me to include sizes that aren’t in that particular pattern envelope you are holding in your very hands.
#2 – Picking out fabric takes a VERY long time, at least for me.
I am sure these are common knowledge for all you talented crafties out there, but I am starting from zero sewing knowledge!
I am a student again
